Why We Do What We Do...
Exodus Electronics (you know
us as eSquared Innovations) was the brainchild of myself, Greg, and a
good friend, Jerry, in the Fall of 2007. It
started as a "Wouldn't it be nice if..." over beers and ended in us
working late into the night on numerous projects. We started in music
technology, with a focus on guitar electronics improvements and
amplifier design. We now have a full catalog of prototypes, and are
always building more. We decided to shift our focus to what we're best
at: Low Voltage Digital Design. We are now working harder
than ever to create opportunities for local students to work on
interesting and challenging projects.
Greg Magruder
Greg is currently working as an Embedded Software Developer at
Magneti Marelli North America for his daytime hobby. Prior to
graduating the University of Michigan with a Bachelor's of Science in
Electrical Engineering he interned at Siemens VDO Automotive in the
powertrain department.
Following this, he started working for NEC Electronics America as an
intern, then was hired in as a Associate Technical Applications
Engineer. There he
completed a computer vision application for a small scale autonomous
vehicle capable of Obstacle Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, and
Lane Detection and Correction. This can be viewed on YouTube under "NEC
IMAPCAR Convergence 2008," the demo is explained by NEC's hardware and
interfacing engineer for the project, Jeremy Brodt*. Before parting
ways with NEC, Greg was responsible for fielding questions and working
on
demos pertaining to embedded graphics and computer vision. Greg lends
his years of customer service experience paired with a life-long
fascination with electronics to the company as its CEO.
Brian Warren
Brian is currently working as an
Electrical Hardware Engineer at Magneti Marelli North America. Prior to
this he was a lab instructor at the U of M after finishing up an
undergraduate degree
in Computer and Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan.
In addition to school, Brian has worked as an intern at Xilinx in
Albuquerque, NM where he worked on the characterization of the
Spartan 3A-DSP FPGA and the Spartan 6 family of FPGAs. Brian brings
his natural problem solving skills and sense of organization and
leadership to Exodus Electronics as the Director of Technology.
Greg Platter
Greg Platter is currently
finishing up an undergrad at Wayne State for music performance. He has
been trained in many different genres of music spanning numerous
instruments from classical piano to jazz bass to modern metal guitar
and many more. He has been commissioned by numerous plays and live
performances for his talents at reading and being creative with
prewritten music. When not playing from sheet music, Greg is creating
catchy new melodies that cross genres and accent any media project.
